The mission of Project SHARPE is to employ critical and cutting-edge research methods to explore and document student experiences at universities with histories of slavery and institutional approaches to addressing their enslavement histories. In collaboration with other institutional agents working in this movement, we aim to generate new knowledge and interactive findings that help to address the racist, violent history of slavery in higher education through policy and practice.
To evaluate and provide accountability measures for universities, which can contribute to more positive campus racial climates, academic support and funding for African diasporic students.
